everybody needs an herb garden

I’ve been eyeing several upcycled DIY herb garden projects on Pinterest® for months. I finally settled on a vertical herb garden, using a recycled pallet as the base. CHIVES: This wispy herb has been called the gentle onion. It has a slight onion flavor with hints of garlic and looks much like the tops of tiny green onions. To use chives, snip them into small pieces with kitchen or herb shears. They’ll lose their flavor when cooked, so add them later in the recipe or use as garnish over the top of a finished dish. Chives are especially delicious in dips and spreads.

Description:

Pop singer-songwriters Gavin DeGraw and Colbie Caillat are teaming up for a summer tour and they’re stopping in Northwest Arkansas! This highly anticipated tour features pop sensation Andy Grammer as the opening act.

With one of the most recognizable voices of our time, combined with blue eyed soul vocals, freewheeling melodies and earthy charm; singer, songwriter, and musician Gavin DeGraw, has enjoyed success since breaking through in 2003 with his debut album, Chariot, which sold over a million copies, earned platinum certification, and yielded three hit singles: “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through,” and the title-track, “Chariot.” He followed that up with his self-titled second album, which debuted at No. 1 on the digital sales chart and at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart in 2008 (earning Gavin his first Top 10 album and spawning the hit singles “In Love With A Girl” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.”

Colbie Caillat burst onto the scene in 2007 with her first album, “Coco” which debuted at No. 5 and raced its way past the multi-Platinum barrier. Her first single, “Bubbly,” caught a generation’s imagination and has become one of the best-selling digital tracks of all time. Billboard took note by naming Caillat its “Breakthrough Artist of the Year.” Fittingly, her 2009 album “Breakthrough” broke at No. 1 and was honored with two Grammy nominations; that same year, Caillat won two Grammys® for her collaborations with Jason Mraz and Taylor Swift.

The concert will be at the Washington County Fairgrounds. For more information and tickets log onto waltonartscenter.org or call (479) 443.5600.
