Description:

Ben Boulden, local author and Times Record columnist, will present Southern With Spine: Strong Women in Fort Smith History, 1817-1917 at the Main Library. He will briefly discuss the lives of several notable and accomplished women associated with the city's past. In addition, he will present recent research he has done into a women-led strike in 1917 in Fort Smith that ultimately resulted in the ouster of a mayor, a general strike, and a milestone in women's suffrage.
