Take a tantalizing culinary and cultural journey to India. Capture the essence of this ancient culture with the wonderfully exotic spices, herbs, aromas, and flavorings of the East. Indian, Malay, Arab, Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences all left their mark on the cuisine, and Biryani dishes have remained popular in villages for centuries. “Biryani,” derived from Persia, means “fried” or “roasted” and was brought to the Indian subcontinent by travelers and merchants. We will travel by UAFS vans to one of Northwest Arkansas’ Indian restaurants and learn a little bit about the rich diversity of India. Lunch is included. Presented by the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. Mon., Aug. 27 • 11:40 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. Registration deadline Aug. 13 (Limited to 15) CRN: 5129 • $22 Please contact The Center for Lifelong Learning to register at 479-788-7220 or on the web at www.uafs.edu/lifelonglearning.
